Named one of The Most Beautiful New Restaurants in Atlanta of 2017, The Painted Duck opened its doors in December 2017 as a duckpin bowling alley, game hall, restaurant, and bar. The 26,000 square-foot, old school gaming parlor is located in the Stockyards Atlanta. A neon duck in the shape of a duckpin bowling pin above the green double doors marks the obscure entrance. The Painted Duck offers a variety of games, including 16 lanes of duckpin bowling, two indoor horseshoe pits, two Belgian feather bowling lanes, knuckleball, and two indoor deck shuffleboard courts. One of the more unique installations done by DCO Commercial Floors was the green turf snookball court – a combination of pool and soccer, played with your feet. The rest of the restaurant and game space features herringbone floors, five open-flame chandeliers, with a lot of leather and bright colors. The eye-popping design plays a large role in the experience of the environment. Guests enter down a graffiti-mural hallway and arrive into the basement. The space is an elegant mix of industrial simplicity, hunting lodge atmosphere, and upscale ballroom sophistication. There are other design elements that are allegedly concealed, inviting guests to discover every nook and cranny for further amusement. Using recycled rubber, concrete, outdoor felt, large format tile, and other flooring elements, DCO Commercial Floors was able to contribute to the beautiful and imaginative restaurant and game parlor design.
