A History of Unparalleled Service and Selection

Here at DCO Commercial Floors, We’re Proud of Our History

Founded by the late Mike Blanton, our story starts in July, 1978. We’re proud of DCO Commercial Floors’ history.

Even at an early age, Mike was no stranger to the flooring industry. His mother worked as a bookkeeper for a hardwood company until she eventually launched her own retail location. This served as Mike’s foray into the world of flooring. Throughout his high school and college years, he worked as a flooring installer until founding his own store, Dalton Carpet Outlet.

A Unique Opportunity Is Born

After seven years of residential service, Mike discovered an unfulfilled opportunity. Contractors and commercial enterprises needed a reliable and trustworthy name to help sell and install their flooring, while keeping in mind the unique needs of commercial and building professionals. Mike devised a team that was dedicated to commercial clients and launched the commercial arm of his thriving business.

A Decade of Growth

Over the span of the next three years, the company grew and thrived – building lasting partnerships with contractors and commercial businesses across the area. Dalton Carpet Outlet eventually became part of the nationwide Carpet One cooperative in 1988 and changed its name to Dalton Carpet One.

A History of Excellence

Meanwhile, the commercial branch of the company, DCO Commercial Floors (DCOCF) became its own division under Dalton Carpet One in 2007. The company operates alongside sister company, Dalton Carpet One Floor & Home, providing a full spectrum of flooring and window care for both residential and commercial purposes.

A Promising Future

Today, the company’s headquarters is based out of the Athens, Georgia, location with three additional offices in Georgia located in Atlanta, Eastman, and Lawrenceville. Our newest location is in Charlotte, NC.

The success story continues. In 2017, DCOCF became a member of the Starnet® Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership. This exceptional standard ensures that every floor they sell and install meets or exceeds the pinnacle of excellence in manufacturing, service, and installation.

Thanks to the considerable work on college campuses and detailed restoration and preservation efforts, the very floors you walk on at school, work, or home could bear the hallmarks of DCOCF’s commitment to quality. Their work can be seen across a variety of industries including hospitality, multi-family facilities, healthcare, senior living facilities, and corporate offices across the country.
