At DCO Commercial Floors, we are more than just a flooring and window treatment company. We also provide comprehensive project management so that your project is smooth from the estimating stages to procurement, from install to closeout.
Project Management
Complete Project Supervision from Start to Finish
When you choose DCO Commercial Floors for your commercial flooring or window treatment project, you’ll be working with a dedicated Project Team that handles every aspect of your project from start to finish. We understand that each jobsite is unique and requires a customized plan; our dedicated project team directs the overall design process while coordinating logistics, just-in-time material management, and installation planning in the most efficient method for your jobsite.
Having a dedicated Project Team is about more than just the project itself. It’s about being able to rely on people to do the best possible job on time, every time. Your project manager’s contact information is all you need to know to get the answers you need.
Each of our flooring project managers is required to partake in the Certified Installation Manager (CIM) program through the Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA). This program provides training tools and assessment for qualified professionals within the commercial flooring industry to enhance their core skill set, experience, and knowledge base, which are necessary to successfully manage commercial flooring projects.
Having a central point of contact ensures you have someone you can turn to at any time – and that in itself is a responsibility we take seriously – ensuring the best possible service from start to finish.
We believe one incident would be too many. For this reason, all our project managers are OSHA 10 certified. We go above and beyond standard OSHA practices to ensure the highest safety compliance.
Specification & Selection/Design
Thorough Evaluation of Requirements and Material Selection
Undertaking a flooring or window treatment project is about more than just styles and colors. It’s also about understanding product performance and maintenance requirements. A poorly chosen product can cost twice as much as its original installation on account of maintenance and replacement needs. That’s why it’s so important to get it right the first time.
In addition to evaluating upfront costs, we also take the time to evaluate the value of your floors and window treatments over a lifetime, not just the upfront cost. We will ensure that the right product is used for the right space in which it is applied.
With this in mind, we work alongside both end users and designers to select materials that are both aesthetically pleasing, long-lasting, and functional. We have taken the time to build long-standing relationships with a wide range of commercial manufacturers. As a nationwide dealer, our buying power allows us to procure the highest quality materials at the best possible prices and then be able to pass the savings on to you.
We understand the highest quality products come at a price beyond what the tags display. That’s why we’re proud to offer LEED qualified flooring product options that are environmentally-conscious, sensible, and sustainable.
Estimating
Quick, Detailed, and Comprehensive Estimates
With more than 40 years of experience, we know how to provide detailed estimates – fast.
Get the confidence you need to take your project to the next level. We’ll be with you every step of the way, from budgeting the project to final pricing.
Our thorough, focused assessment factors in a variety of considerations, including installation goals, design ideas, budget, and time constraints. Having an up-front and candid budget discussion as a part of the process allows our project manager to ensure the long-term value of your investment.
Our budget-conscious estimators work to help balance your requirements with solutions tailor-made to fit your needs.
Of course, many customers ask us, “can I just get a ballpark estimate?” Yes. Any contractor can give you an estimate. But even with decades of experience, it’s important to know that every job is unique and has its own set of requirements and challenges.
We also understand accurate and resourceful estimating is vital to the success of your project. Our in-house estimation team uses state-of-the-art software to provide the most precision possible. We also measure every window, even if the measurement is on the spec sheet. This allows us to give you an estimate closer to the cost of the finished job, so you can make an informed decision. We also offer product alternatives and suggestions in value engineering to keep your project within the set budget.
We pride ourselves on delivering estimates that are fair, responsible, transparent, and take all reasonable preparation into account. Should unforeseen issues and associated expenses arise, we’ll keep you informed every step of the way by providing detailed documentation, backup documentation, and detailed explanations for any changes that occur.
In short, you’ll know what needs to be done, why it needs to be done, and what it will cost right from the start.
Moisture Testing & Remediation
Comprehensive Assessment and Solutions for Found Problems
Moisture can impede flooring installation in more ways than you may realize. Too much moisture can cause flooring adhesives to fail, promote mold and mildew growth, and cause the end product to curl, bubble, or warp.
What’s more, product and installation warranties have a specific limitation on how much moisture content, contamination, and emission levels are present before, during, and after installation. Failing to meet or exceed these conditions may render your warranty void.
With this in mind, we take the time to properly test your slab for moisture content and vapor emissions before we install your new flooring. If moisture is present and the product that is about to be installed is moisture-sensitive, we immediately communicate the issues and work with you toward resolutions. By taking the time to identify and correct moisture problems, we ensure the longevity of your floors and therein maintain their durability and beauty for years to come.
We offer several moisture remediation tools and solutions that protect your investment in your new flooring while ensuring it gives you the best possible performance for years to come.
Substrate Preparation
Complete Substrate Assessment and Readiness
A floor is only as good as the surface on which it is installed. Properly preparing the substrate, or the underlying layer that your flooring is installed upon, is a crucial part of proper flooring installation.
In addition to our technicians thoroughly conducting a pre-job inspection for a variety of substrate conditions, such as floor flatness, we ensure the substrate meets the flooring manufacturers’ standards. We carefully note the type of flooring to be installed, where it is to be installed, and what sorts of stresses it will be subjected to throughout its service life.
An inadequate or improper assessment may lead to expensive repairs, construction delays or repeated failings of your flooring system.
When performed correctly, however, a proper flooring bond across all materials from the substrate to the flooring itself will provide you with years of dependable use. We take the time to fully assess the areas of installation as well as the types of flooring used so you can feel confident that your new floors will last a long time and look great.
This is only a part of our complete commitment to your full satisfaction. We welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you may have. Contact us at DCO Commercial Floors today for a no-obligation estimate on your new flooring project or for help deciding on the best type of flooring for your substrate area.

Site Management
Fully Coordinated On-Location Supervision
Overseeing our work with an eye for quality, safety, and communication is paramount. For this reason, many projects require dedicated site supervision. Our on-site superintendents utilize specialized project management software to ensure they have real time information and everyone is on task at all times.
Our site managers take responsibility for the work as it takes place on site. They serve as the single point of contact for multiple DCOCF crews and foreman and have on-site decision-making authority.
Managing a project on-location comes with many advantages. Our site managers provide quality control and general management of materials. This spans from the pre-inspection, logistics, coordination with the client and other trades, self-punch list for installers, and final site clean-up.
Scheduling and planning manpower, complete communication with the general contractor, overall supervision and safety, and documentation are all included in their list of responsibilities. Our customers work with only one spokesperson instead of complex sources of information or multiple crews.
DCO Commercial Floors is committed to providing a safe work environment. A detailed safety plan is in place at all times and each of our site superintendents is OSHA 30 certified.
Occupied Spaces
Seamless Installation with Limited Interruption
Window treatment and flooring installations are both an art and a craft. Our installers are second-to-none. Special considerations must be kept in mind when working in an occupied space.
Our Lift Installation process for flooring installations helps eliminate the need to move bulky, heavy, cumbersome furniture by lifting it slightly in place and allowing for the flooring to be installed. This allows for substantial savings as it eliminates the need to dismantle, set back up, or move furniture.
We work closely with you in the phasing and define scheduling expectations to ensure the least amount of disruption to your work space. We work from start to finish to coordinate all aspects of your project.
Recycling
Clean, Green, and Sustainable Initiatives
Carpet and flooring waste can clog landfills, which is why DCO Commercial Floors takes steps to help protect the environment and eliminate waste. DCOCF actively works with end users to offer solutions to reuse, recycle and repurpose carpeting, which in turn reduces the carbon footprint and provides cleaner, greener solutions.
DCO Commercial Floors is proud of its efforts to help provide a cleaner environment.
