The Flooring Contractors Association elects Jesse Tranel to 2022 Leadership Board
Introduction: 
The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA) has announced it has elected three new board of directors for the 2022 to 2025 term. During the Annual Business Meeting, held in conjunction with the Annual Convention and Commercial Flooring Trade Show, on September 16, the executive board nominated and voted on the directors for three-year terms expiring in 2025.
The following people were named to the board: Jesse Tranel, CIM, DCO Commercial Floors, John West, CIM, F. L. Crane and Sons and Don Styka, CIM, Tarkett.
The FCICA Board of Directors serve a three-year rotational term and are elected at FCICA’s annual convention by members in good standing. The Floor Covering Installation Contractors Association (FCICA) was formed in 1982 as a nonprofit to provide education to the flooring industry. Today, FCICA’s mission is to help make commercial flooring contractors successful through expert education, sharing best practices, and professional networking.
FCICA Board Elections:
DCO had several members of our team recently attended the FCICA 2021 Annual Convention and Commercial Flooring Trade Show, September 13 – 15, held in Austin, Texas. Our company has a very successful partnership and history with FCICA. DCO’s support of the organization through service on the Board of Directors started with JR Allred who was instrumental in the development of the CIM Program. President Curtis Blanton then succeeded Allred and assisted in growing the Successors Program and increasing membership during his time on the Board. During the 2021 Conference, it was announced that Jesse Tranel would be carrying on the tradition of DCO leadership. Jesse will assist in furthering the education initiatives and advancement of the CIM program. Our company requires our PMs to maintain a CIM Certification. DCO is in the planning process to host CIM Training in January 2022.
Jesse stated that he was “Honored to be nominated and to work with other industry leaders on the board to enhance the professionalism of commercial flooring contractors.”

About: Jesse started his extensive career in his father’s retail flooring and furniture store in Dubuque, Iowa. He worked in every position in the family business including the warehouse, delivery, sales, and as a subcontractor before moving to Georgia in 2003. He joined Dalton Carpet One in 2009 as their Installation Manager, and was an integral part of the leadership team throughout DCO’s rapid growth overseeing the Installation Dept. for both retail and commercial divisions. He transitioned to Operations Manager of the commercial division in 2015, focusing on building the project management department. He became the Vice President of DCO Commercial Floors in 2018, supporting all departments in the execution of successful projects, and developing leaders on the operations side of the business.
