DCOCF installed flooring in management, administrative, and operation offices at Daniel Defense, a 250,000sf manufacturing facility. In these areas, there was an installation challenge of specialty venetian polished marble floor lobby tile in a herringbone pattern. There was also off-set patterned tile installation requirements in the break rooms, restrooms, and stairwell areas. Attention to detail was much needed for the installation methods for layouts of Milliken remix larger scale non-directional pattern with traction back technology installed in executive offices, board room, and company museum. Apart from the complicating installation methods, our team was also presented with the challenge to complete installation to meet the scheduled date for relocation, the consolidation of management, administration, and new manufacturing operations. Our project manager, Doug Coombs, developed an “affinity modeling” just-in- time material management plan that allowed for inventory consolidation, transportation, and staging of specific material items and their complimentary parts. Aligned equipment, tools, and labor utilization was used to leverage resources and maximize efficiencies.
